Mental Health

Alaska Behavioral Health provides many different mental and behavioral health services for a range of ages. At their Child and Family Clinic, services are provided for adolescents–with their families, if appropriate–using trauma-informed therapy methods. No one is denied service due to their inability to pay. A sliding fee schedule is available based on family size/income. Medicare/Medicaid is accepted along with certain private insurances.

Counseling Solutions provides a range of mental health services for both couples and families. They also have a Telehealth service so clients can have appointments online.

Open Path is dedicated to providing affordable sessions for people of all backgrounds and identities. With a one-time membership fee of $65, clients can access in-office and online sessions that range from $30 to $70. There are three counselors in Anchorage who are currently accepting new clients.

With a mission driven by Christian faith, BBH staff focus on Trauma Informed Perspective to understand the effects of trauma. They are dedicated to providing mental health services for Alaskan teens and families. In this pursuit, they serve all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Discounts are offered based on income/family size and Medicaid is also accepted.

Thriveworks counselors strive to provide tailored therapy and psychiatric services to their patients. There are two dedicated therapists at the Anchorage location. Main services include child therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, and teen therapy. Online appointments are also available. Medicare and over 20 insurance plans are accepted by the Anchorage counselors. Although prices vary, clients who use insurance owe a copay of between $0 & $50 per session.

Wisdom Traditions offers a wide variety of mental health counseling services to people of all ages. Within behavioral health, they offer support for issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, grief, family, eating issues, mood disorders, and sexual or gender identity.
